![]() My iPhone is like an extension of my right hand. As a small business owner, not only do I need to be contactable, I also need to check my email regularly and reply asap. You might be reading this and thinking “yep, me too”. We’re not alone! In 2014, most people have a mobile device. They carry them (smart phones, tablets etc) everywhere and constantly read texts, emails and check their favourite social sites. This huge increase in smart phone users is an awesome mobile marketing opportunity for small businesses… But everyone is super busy 24/7 so creating the right copy to grab attention is imperative! I wanted to share with you my 2 super quick tips for effective mobile marketing. 1. Keep Content Short & Sharp Always keep your email messages short and get your point across quickly! Whether you’re using text copy or video, if it’s too long people will skip over it. Instead keep your messages short and sharp and make sure your headline is compelling. Write a great opening sentence to encourage people to read on. Consider including the key features of your product or adding interesting facts in bullet point form. Bullet points give readers the ability to scan through your information quickly. ![]() 2. Include a Call-To-Action Do you want your subscribers to read your email for the fun of it, or do you want them to do something more? I hope you said “do something more”! What action do you want the reader to take? Is your email a prompt for your End Of Financial Year Sale ending soon? Your call to action could be a “Shop Now” button link to your online store. Are you a hairdresser or beautician offering limited special appointments? A “Book Now” button linked to your website or appointment scheduling app is a must. Have you written a new blog post like this one? A “Read More” button linked to your blog is the way to go. Remember to always include your website link and phone number too. All of these calls-to-action generate inbound marketing leads for your small business. If you’d like to know more about other marketing ideas for your small business, click here.
