![]() 2014 is going to be a great year for Social Media and Small Business. Social Media allows small businesses to leverage social media apps and tools to be competitive with their larger rivals brands and companies. Remember, social media apps are just the tools, it’s how you use them to communicate with your customers, how you leverage relationships and of course how you share great content that is important. You’ve heard me say it before, but I’ll say it again… CONTENT IS KING! Here are my pick for the Top 5 Web Marketing and Social Media Trends that will shape the way we do business (successfully!) in 2014. 1. Mobile is everywhere! Mobile marketing needs to be carefully considered with an increasing number of customers using their mobile device, be it smart phone or tablet, to search for information about brands and companies. Email marketing will continue to grow, so it’s imperative to ensure your design is responsive and easily viewed on a mobile platform. 2. Blogging Will Remain the No. 1 Way to Generate New Business Creating great content (Content is King!) and sharing it on a regular basis will drive traffic back to your website and generate enquiries. If you’re a small business and you don’t have a blog yet, it’s time to start one (don’t be afraid, we’re here to help!). 3. Google Plus Will Grow In Australia The search benefits alone are obvious, but Google Plus provides an increased user base as many people adapt to this social network. Promoted posts, similar to Facebook will be available soon (called +Post ads) that will put your content in front of a larger audience than ever before. If you’re not on Google Plus, get on it! We can help… 4. Video Consumption Will Rise Consumers LOVE video and some use YouTube as a search engine for everything from how to erect the new tent they bought for summer camping, to how to set up the new iPad they just bought. So whether it’s an education video or an ad, consumers look to video content to learn about businesses. 5. Value Added Marketing Is Key Marketing is not just about putting yourself out there on as many social sites as possible, it’s about how you provide value to your customer that counts. Whether it’s through your blog, video or you email marketing campaign, people need to perceive value in your content in order to stay engaged.
