I love to stay up-to-date with the latest concepts and strategies in marketing and follow several reputable content marketing experts and social media marketing advocates around the world. One of my favourites is Neil Patel from Quicksprout Social. Neil's blog is always informative and provides easy to use steps for marketing a small business in the digital space. Just today I received Neil's latest post "How to create content that drives lots of organic traffic" and it included a fantastic infographic that was too good not to share! The key take out is "value + backlinks + keyword opportunities = lots of organic traffic". Take a look at the infographic and scroll down for the conclusion. Courtesy of: Quick Sprout The Conclusion? "Content that gets lots of search traffic is typically optimized for long tail keywords, contains tons of backlinks, and is evergreen." - Neil Patel So what does that mean and how do you translate it to marketing for your small business? Simple, If you write content, focus on creating posts that include exclusive data (e.g. case studies), provide resources for further reading, such as web links to comprehensive guides from reputable marketers like Neil, and offer your own unique perspective. Even if you add your take on a topic or share your opinion, like I'm doing now. You can find lots of great digital marketing and social media tips on my blog: www.sharpedesignsolutions.com.au/blog or the Quicksprout blog: www.quicksprout.com/blog.
